It’s springtime. Are you ready?
Hey Fast Pass method students, it’s springtime so the lesson on our platform this week is springtime. Now spring is a fabulous season of the year because we have warmer days, longer days and beautiful flowers blooming and so going outside for a walk and enjoying nature is amazing at this time of year.
Now the topic on our platform is about springtime and the grammar topic for this week is about the difference between like and as which is confusing, so we have our archive video that is going to explain the difference.
Before we begin, we want to say well done to all our students that answered all correctly for our Wednesday listening and our Friday test well done guys, thank you so much for doing it and well done for achieving good results. Also to our new students that are joining us, thank you so much for trying the Fast Pass method you will be speaking very soon for sure
Also this week we are going to go over to Madrid to see what Sonia has for us in Fast Pass Español and Adriana who has the podcast to see what Adriana has for us this week.
It’s time to go over to our archive video that will explain the difference between like and as. Enjoy the video.
This week in Fast Pass, we’re looking at the difference between like and as. Let’s start with as we use as in the following situations to show how something functions. For example:
I use texts as a way of keeping in touch with my family to me because for example as tomorrow is my birthday, I will be treating you to cake.
After certain verbs including describe and regard. For example:
I regard you as a hard-working person to mean for example i love sports such as rugby cricket and soccer.
In sentences when you think something is true. For example:
As far as i’m concerned she is going to win.
Like on the other hand, we use to mean similar or for example
Let’s look at two examples
He’s eating what looks like cake
He enjoys music like jazz and soul
There you have it guys. Do you understand the difference? Don’t worry, there’s more examples on the platform so be sure to check it out to get more idea of the differences.
Now it’s time to go over to Sonia in Madrid to see what we have in the lesson this week in Fast Pass Español
– Hola Sonia hello
¡Muchas gracias Brent! ¡Muchas gracias a todos! Ciao! Buena semana.
Remember if you know anyone that wants to learn Spanish please get in touch with us and we will help them. Now it’s time to go over to Adriana to see what Adriana has for us in the podcast this week.
