Now it’s time to go over to Lisa and Chanel as they explain about phrasal verbs Hi guys. Thanks Brent hi guys, this week we are looking at phrasal verbs. Phrasal verbs are generally used in informal speaking and written situations and are made when you take a verb plus a preposition and an adverb and put them together. They go on to make a new word with a new meaning and sometimes the same phrasal verb can have a completely different meaning to the one before. Let’s look at some phrasal verbs
- do up can mean to fix or it can mean to put on your makeup
- to run out of means to use all of or drain the supply of something
- clear up needs to tidy and organize the things you have done
- look after means to take care of someone or something
That’s all from us back to you Brent
