English Lesson of the week 16 October -When it Rains + Play Go and Do

This week the lesson on our platform is when it rains. Why when it rains? well, talking about the weather is an excellent opportunity for you to improve your English and here with the Fast Pass Method. We have created it so that you are able to speak and communicate and by speaking and communicating you are able to improve your English so we’re going to look at some new vocabulary, we’re gonna look at some new idioms and collocations, expressions and we’re gonna finish off by looking at our grammar for this week.
Let’s get started now by looking at our vocabulary. Remember our vocabulary is level based guys so we start with pet which is B1 and move on to our C Level which is our Cambridge Advance.

So let’s look at the first one now if you go to the platform, you scroll down and you see the topic for this week is when it rains and you see the vocabulary. It’s level guided and you see the First vocabulary is

  • downpour -> it’s a strong rain a lot of rain so in your city, in your country,  do you often experience a lot of heavy downpours? heavy downpours in Coruña. We have a downpour it’s called every day okay so it has rain here there’s rain here.
  • The next one guys is gloomy. Gloomy and that’s an adjective. What is gloomy as everybody hugs is when the sky is gray and you feel gray and you feel me perfect time to learn some English with Brent English

Now guys, the next one, we’re going to look at now so that’s some of the vocabulary. Remember we’re just looking at a few but in the lesson with your teachers you will go over the platform and all the vocabulary there.
Now it’s time to go to idioms and collocations. Remember guys they are expressions that you can use that say a lot in just a few
words for example:

  • the first one is Run for Cover. So Run for Cover is when it starts to downpour and you have to run full cover to escape the rain run
    for Cover.
  • the next one we’re looking at is soaked to the bone soaked to the boo.nokay so soaked to the build remember right give a verb what ends in K we pronounce it with a strong T. So soaked

That’s your idioms and collocations. Grammar Time. This week guys is play, go and do. What’s the difference and when do we use them? generally,

  • we use play when you’re talking about sports that involve a ball so play tennis,play basketball or play table tennis. Things with a ball use play.
  • Go is generally for things outside so running so go swimming, go running, go canoeing, so it’s repetitive actions
  • now you do is when you do something in an arena in an arena. Do karate in an arena, do gymnastics in an arena, do yoga inside in your house
